Higgs, no one is suggesting that the gazillionare shouldn't watch the launch from his boat, it's just his choice of "anchorage" that is in question. Space View Park is only about 150 feet wide along the Indian River. Over 15,000 people were crammed into that park to view the launch, many enduring 3 days of "camping out" to save a good spot (including me). The Indian River provides at least a 2 mile long section of good launch pad viewing by boat. So, the "inconsiderate boater" chose a 50-foot section that blocked the view of tens of thousands when he had over 10,000 feet of river to chose from. BrianW

Got it now. I figured that no matter where he anchored he would be blocking someone's view, but now see he had other choices.

There were about 20 boats out there. About 8 of them were sailboats. Not a single sailboat was remotely in anybody's field of view. Coincidence? BrianW

Brian, some people are actually aware that there are more people than only themselves in the world.. Surprising but true ! That donkey didn't even consider that he might have been blocking anyone's view.. Some of the other folks may have considered not blocking the park's sightline..

Capt. Jon.... glad you asked! While the power boater was inconsiderate, he also lacked good anchoring skills. During the 2-minute hold at T minus 31 seconds, his anchor drug for about 50 feet, giving us a view of the launch pad.... and also a good view for my videographer friend to make a fabulous video production (see link below). This boat movement, however, blocked the view of a large group of people to my left. BrianW
