Are those light lanterns on the frames?
Those would surely draw the fish to the surface at night for easier netting.

I believe those are squid fishing boats. The lights attract them to the surface. I've seen stories about how many of those boats there are in certain waters to satisfy the demand, mostly in Asia

You are right, Ed. In Thailand, they all use green lights. Here it is white. When I first saw them off-shore, I thought, "what are the chances that every boat out there has her starboard side to the shore?"

The Admiral is checking the fishing map for a place to drop anchor for the night. Yes, I said FISHING MAP. IIRC, on the top hatch board is a Garmin gps72 with no map features at all.
