Been there
Only had my boat for two years, and have had the drill three or four times so far.I am at a dock in a canal a couple of blocks off the intercoastal. The drill is to move the boat to the center of the canal after all canvas has been removed, and the boom lowered and lashed to the deck. (with padding) So far, I have tied to each side of the canal wih four lines. Tying to the dock post on either side. Sustained some damage in Wilma as the boat was only 15-20 feet from my dock, and the force of the wind streched the line enough for the boat to hit the dock. Of coarse, all of this has to be done after all traffic has exited the canal. This is normally by the time the bridges are locked down for the duration.
