Having just paid to have my teak stripped and re-done with Cetol, I'd sure like to delay having to repeat the process any time soon. The person who did it said that it's necessary to do a light sanding and re-coat about once a year if I want to avoid having to strip to bare wood again. It seems to me that if waxing fiberglass retards UV damage that the same might be said of woodwork. Has anybody ever tried putting wax on teak with a Cetol finish to see if it helps? Any other ideas to delay its degradation apart from putting custom canvas covers on it?
