Water pump impeller for 11 HP Universal Diesel

I would like to know where to get a replacement impeller fo my 11 HP diesel water pump. I have a Blue Globe replacement which I installed and it slips on the shaft whenever you increase the throttle above idle and the engine gets hot. Fortunately, the old one I replaced still works fine. It is black and has a brass insert which goes on the pump shaft, and it doesn't slip - I'd like to get another just like it for a spare. Unfortunately I don't know the manufacturer's name.Wally Scheid

Impeller Replacement

Wally, check out the link below for all the details. Universal used two types of water pumps on their 5411 engines, Orberdorfer and Sherwood. The link below will give you a step by step on how to and also lists both part numbers. You might have to try both if you can't find a manufacturer's name on it. Mine is a 81 C30 and has the Orberdorfer pump. I'm sure you could find an impeller for either if you ask around any diesel shops near you marina. Good luck with the pump.Rons/v Seascape

It's probably an Orberdorfer (sp?)

My Universal 5411 has an Orberdorfer water pump. You should be able to get a parts list from a Universal dealer. Just make sure to double check the maker of the water pump. As there is a chance the pump may be from a different Mfgr. Here is a good website to get started.

Impeller

Wally, the sherwood has 12 paddels on the impeller and 6 screws on the cover(inspection)plate.The Oberdorfer has 6 paddels and 4 screws. check out WWW.marinedieseldirect.com for illustrations,part numbers and prices.

i feel your pain

i had the same problem. i finally had someonelocate me one and ordered it. it came fromsherwood. it was a sherwood #10077. also ifyou could not find a model # on your pump asfar as i know it is a sherwood hc-80 which theydo not make anymore but oberdorfer has the water pump which i'm about to order. the pump, if you need it is #202m-7. maybe this will save you some time looking for the impeller and a pump should you need a pump.

Try this for low cost pumps

I replaced my troublesom pump last year. I was quoted 236-315 for the part and got it for 134 at depco. Good luck
