I just sailed my 1990 27' Pearson from Milwaukee to Montrose Harbor in Chicago. This is my first sail with the boat after purchasing it from Skipper Bud's in Milwaukee. Everything worked great when we set sail. However, when we tried the water system, water started sputtering out of the faucet and we concluded the tank had not been filled, so on our next stop I filled it up. The water pressure pump comes on and never stops unless I turn it off. The water does not flow properly and only sputters. Any ideas how I can get this working again?

Thanks for all your help. If you prefer to contact me offline, my email is drbobfarra@gmail.com.

When I run my water tanks too low, after refilling them I have to put a couple fingers over the faucet to allow the pump to pull the water past the air that is in the line. After a minute the system is primed again.

It just sounds like you have air in the lines and the pump is staying on because it cannot get to the right pressure until it is primed again.

Yes, air in the lines. Also check if fittings are tight, filter/strainer bowl tight, filter clean.
