I have a pearson 34 and I am very frustrated by a leak. When it rains water leaks out from a reading lamp mouted on a horizontal surface near the bulkhead sperating the v-birth from the head. The back side of the lamp is in a storage bin...which is dry. The water seems to be collecting between layers of the fiberglass hull. I have sealed everything with no positive results. I have removed and resealed the closest port, the overhead hatch, the vents...even put caulking on the teak wood strip just above the port. Anyone have this problem and what is the cure?

Nick, your explanation is not very clear. Why not draw a well labeled diagram of the installation and the problem should be more easily seen. Best, Ron

leaks

There are two places where the leaks usually come from. 1 is the forward hatch the other is the hull to deck joint. persevere you will find it. Heres a hint
If the leak is coming from the joint its probably not where it seems to be.

what model is this? Does your boat have a baby stay mounted on the cabin top above the v-berth?

My first suspicion would be the station bases. Look at the underside of them. Leaks travel along the liners
