I geting water in the watertight part of the hull of my 1975 daysailer '17. I'm sure it's not the drain plug, or either of the circular hatchcovers in the cockpit deck. Should I suspect the centerboard housing, and if so, is the a common problem with a common fix? Many thanks.

As gross as this sounds....
give it a taste. If its salt water, then your centerboard trunk is a suspect. If its fresh, then its rainwater. If you have eliminated certain possibilities from the deck, try others: chainplates; mast step; cleats, stanchions, pulpits, etc. You can selectively apply a hose to just the suspect areas for a check.
