I recognize that this is a long shot. I'm an experienced sailor, who's grown up and lives on the Chesapeake Bay. For a variety of family reasons, a Commander would fit our needs very well. I like Carl Alberg's designs, and I race regularly on Alberg 30s.
I've been looking for a Pearson Commander for some time now. Does anyone know of a Commander for sale that's in decent shape within a reasonable distance of the Chesapeake? I'm not looking for a project boat--I simply don't have the time or skills to rebuild a boat. I'd like to find something solid and that I'm able to sail, and that I can improve over time. I understand the interplay between a boat's condition and it's price.
