Vulcan 7 depth offset not working

I bought both units at WM. I'm pretty sure I have the backbone properly terminated but will double check. I suspect I wouldn't be getting a depth reading if it weren't. I think I found how to get the update to work. Let's see what tomorrow's trip to the boat brings!

Not reading the two other functions from the multi sensor Maretron is telling. I would go to West, then Maretron, then Simrad. If there is a Maretron multisenso that is listed with Vulcan .

It’s possible it’s the Maretron sensor that is defective. Does West have another you could borrow or just return the thing and get another one

Do you have another speedo which is listed on the Vulcan? Not seeing the sensor is telling.

I bought my V7 two years ago. It came with the DST800. And no, it was not listed in the Vulcan. But the unit fired up and found the masthead unit, the DST800 and my AIS on startup. I have two suggestions for you. First, make sure the N2K backbone fires up before you start the MFD. Failing to do this caused a problem on my system once when I started the boat using the house battery. Hard booting the entire system solved this problem. Second, Leave your phone number in the contact form. B&G called me back when I had issues loading my waypoints from the SD card. I was attempting to use a 64GB card in the unit and it only reads up to 32GB. I swapped the data card with the one from my cell phone and everything was great. On both devices.

P.S. Thanks for bringing this up. It caused me to go look at B&G's website and find out about the new map palette and that autorouting is now available in the US. YAY!!

Problem solved! I found a phone number (800) 628-4487 at the end of the auto reply email I received in response to my online inquiry to B and G. I called them this morning and chose the "call back" option they offered due to long wait times. They actually called back about 20 minutes later and I got a very knowledgeable tech. He walked me through some network changes that needed to happen so that the V7 would recognize the Airmar. He then showed me where to go to correct the depth offset (and lots of other possible adjustments). Everything works as it should now. None of what he showed me did I recall finding in the nearly 200 page manual for the V7 but now armed with that knowledge I'll revisit the manual and maybe I'll find it. Thanks for all the input.

On another note, I'm not a fan of the Insight chart that comes with the V7. Has anyone found the CMap or Navionics charts to be worth the investment?

We use Navionic with our B & G and Simrad/Navico equipment. Their tech service has been very helpful and easy to deal with.

We have Navionics charts for our Simrad. Actually got them as a bundle with a lowrance chartplotter for our old boat and kept the chip. We still use the Insight charts most of the time just because I like the view better, but it's probably a personal preference thing.
