Thanks all. We've applied for permanent absentee ballots so that should work out fine.Living aboard in Marina del Rey is nice. We've been on the boat here about a year. We haven't had any major theft issues although someone did steal our water hose. There are two security gates to the dock and you need a keycard to enter. We see the sheriffs patroling the basins all the time. We're in H basin in front of the public boat launch and the public parking lot that fills with many roving motorhomes that people live in...free weekend entertainment!! ha ha ha. My beef is with the owner of our docks - the bathrooms/showers are filthy, the dock are old wooden ones and could be replaced with nice cement ones, the power and wireless internet could be better. Here in SoCal we pay very high slip fees so I feel he can afford it!We're waiting patiently for a slip at our Cal Yacht Club two basins over but I might die before getting in there (and I'm only 43!!). We have great dock neighbors several of which are liveaboards also. We're within walking distance of restaurants, grocery stores, WestMarine, Boaters World, etc. We like it alot.
