...running the stripe continuously around the bow without kinking it?

Too steep of an angle unless you hav a plumb bow. It just wouldn't look right no matter how careful you try to be.

The only real choice would be to trim the stripe just short of the bow on either side leaving maybe a half inch or less with no stripe.
Another possibility would be to overlap the port side and starboard side stripe as they come around the bow and trim off the excess.

you will probably need to cut it at the bow, and then do the other side the same...
if you are using actual trim tape, you can apply it at a pretty steep angle by stretching it, and careful use of a heat gun.... I would take a short piece of the tape and do a trial run on it, to see if the heat gun will allow the tape to make the turn/angle around the the stem/bow, and if so, apply it all in a single run.

hopefully your boat isnt still in the water as you try to do this:(....

Personally, I would apply striping as far as I could without losing straight line. Then, with green painter's tape make a template to go around the bow. With template cut and apply sections of vinyl to go around the bow. As I said, this is something I would do and there are always another ways to do it.

If it is the boot stripe..... that's the waterline one..... it's actually easier and cheaper to paint it on.... unless the boat is in the water..
It it's the sheer stripe.... that's the one near the rub rail... then it would look better if it didn't go around the bow, but stopped a few inches short... as DougM said.... then trim at an angle, not square.

Personally, I think this would look goofy going all the way around...

Cove stripes don't wrap around the bow. Check out John's pic. Do it like that and be done with it.

Not talking about cove/shear stripe. Look at the small white stripe on the top third of the boot stripe. That's what I working on. I know his was likely molded in when the hull was made, but I've had to completely repaint everything above the waterline.

Bigger problem to worry about now - I tried applying the white stripe by measuring down from the top of the boot stripe every 8" or so, and ended up with what looked like a kiddie roller coaster! ( btw, I decided against the 2nd shear stripe)

Gotcha. I painted my boot stripe on and didn't get fancy using multiple colors. Just one color. I didn't care for the idea of a vinyl boot stripe.

I usually paint as well but since you got the vinyl already.... what if you started at the bow? Find the mid point of your roll, and from that point start down one side. Heat gun and patience and..... then when you get to the transom, you have an easy 90 deg turn to make.
