Back in the 80's I got this sailing simulator for my Commodore 64. The graphics were the overhead type. You could see the wavelets so it was kind of cool. The problem was the boat did not move. It just sat there. So I had to RTFM (yeah, it actually had a manual). Ah, as a light came on in my head. It is a sailboat so one must adjust the sails in order to get the boat to move. Did it and wow, the boat actually moved according to wind direction and sail angle. The developers were extremely keen on details like that. And best of all, one could increase the wind and your boat would broach if you did not reef the sails. Kind of cool.
