thanks. This is all new territory for me. I'm currently in Pensacola. Given that my timeframe for repairs keeps slipping, maybe I'll just talk to the boat yard here about keeping an eye on it. If I finish early, there are plenty of bays to keep me busy until then.Where are you located? Most marinas, now-a-days, are gated. I might be more inclined to find a mooring to leave the boat at, depending on my finances and the time frame.
There are always exceptions, but most boats on moorings or in marinas experience no problems. Check your insurance policy. The marina will definitely have a blameless and indemnification clause, so they would help only to provide the gate and cctv.

Hmmmmm, not so sure about that. It's highly dependent on the locale, and also, the location of the mooring in the locale. New York City and New Jersey, for example - lock your boat! But, you will still be robbed. Even in virtually crime-free Westport, MA, where I am, boats way out from the marina on moorings are robbed. I have a buddy who "donated" two Honda generators and several electronic pieces over the last 20 years.most boats on moorings or in marinas experience no problems
