Foam is easy but rarely cheap. You can cut new ones with a razor blade. Covers aren't tough either. Sunbrella works really well and there are tons of options now for wearability and matching decor. Now where's my sewing machine? It's a good thing to have on or around a boat.

Try Portland Mattress for a sweet custom fit. We just had one made for our aft berth

A little off topic but just a tip we discovered. We have the original cushions in our V berth. Still in very good condition. However, sleeping on them was not a restful proposition. 3 to 4 inches of very firm foam provided a hard nights sleep. Went to Bed Bath and Beyond and purchased a King size Sleep Zone 5 Zone foam topper for about 35$. It is large enough to cover 98% of the V berth after we cut it. I can't get over how much better sleeping on the boat is. Thinking of getting one for the home mattress.

We will echo Steve's comments - picked up a 3 in. Serta memory foam topper from Overstock. The king was large enough to fit the full length and width of the v-berth. We used the current cushions to mark out the size of the v-berth on the foam topper and then used a serrated bread knife to cut it down. With the memory foam and some really nice pillows, the boat is now more comfortable than our bed at home.
