those are good belts ...haven't used them on engines yet ...but i do use them on woodworking machines in my shop ....word of caution don't use on aluminum sheaves it will ware them outWhy not just get one of these and fit it to your engine? Problem solved? Maybe get two in case the first one wears out.

I am retired now, but spent 45 years working in the Diesel Engine Industry, as a Mechanic and District Service/Parts Manager. I've represented both USA and Japanese Diesel manufactures and can say without doubt that the quality of the Japanese products are incredible!! If you are lucky enough to have a Yanmar engine in your boat, why would you ever think of using any other manufacture's part. It is hard to understand why a person would try to save a few dollars by trying to redesign a product as good as the Yanmar. Another example are oil/air/fuel filter and fasteners. Please alway use OEM Parts, they are tested and are covered by the manufacture's "Parts Warranty!" Of course they can be a little more expensive, but the manufacture has a right to make a profit and use that profit to support their Parts/Service Networks! Here is a saying that I have used for years. " To many people measure thing using a Micrometer, then mark it with a Piece of Chalk, and then Cut it with an Ax." How you expect good results using this kind of thinking is beyond me, but you see it every day!I ordered a replacement belt based on part number in the Yanmar manual - when I got it found out that the belt does NOT consider going aroud the alternator. Went to local auto parts place, they measured, pulled one off the shelf and I was in business in less than 30 minutes (including going to the auto parts place).
+1, but I went with the AltMount prior to the Balmar acquisition after putting a much larger alternator on our boat. Zero dust and much better reliability.I upgraded my belt to a serpentine from electromax. No more belt dust from slippage. Will last much longer than the traditional belts too. Not a cheap upgrade but worth it for us.

Here is a picture of the reason I would not use a Yamar belt. This belt only had few hours on it when I noticed it was about to fail. No nicks or burrs on the pulley. Replaced it with a Gates belt of much higher quality.I am retired now, but spent 45 years working in the Diesel Engine Industry, as a Mechanic and District Service/Parts Manager.
