This must have been a 222 built during the brief period that PEARSON YACHTS was building some of the O'DAYs after O'DAY went bankrupt. It also could have been a partially finished boat that PEARSON completed after buying assets of O'DAY and CAL. They could have decided to drop the extra "2" from the Model designation "222" and simply call her a "22".
Both the 22 (1972-83) and the 222 (1984-89) used the same code letter (J) in their Hull ID Numbers.
That little "flag" after the O'DAY logo is the Logo for PEARSON YACHTS.

Do you have a picture of your boat that you could post? I'm curious about what the Pearson-Built O'Day 22 (AKA 222) looked like.
