hi Folks! The engine should be done next week, and the mechs will re-pak the stuffing box when installing. So far have re-built the head pump, installed new macerator, chased down the water system and re-built the water pump. The hot water hose to the head sink is badly deteriorated and will be replaced this weekend. There is a wierd brass valve inserted into the hose, just below the connection to the bottom of the fitting, and it has a little 1/4" plastic hose coming off it that is 15' or so long and isn't connected to anything. What is It for? any ideas? Planning on pulling the fuel tank this week-end and bring it in to dump and clean. New running rigging next week, and got the sheaves in so will be redoing the trav./and deck blocks then too. My week-ends are too short!

cost

Chris, Would appreciate a cost breakdown when you are finished including nonpayed hours. It would help me to decide what direction to take. T.Y. john

Who Knows? Who Cares?

Whatever it is, it isn't standard so I wouldn't worry about it. I'd just replace your hose without it and forget it.

Winterizing drain?

It may be a drain hose for winterizing which leads into the bilge.

abused 30 update new year

Figured out the hose, it was a shunt to an air conditioner. I did just replace the messed up one, but inquiring minds wanted to know what the $%^&& the thing was. Ran new running rigging, bought a 600' roll of 3/8 sta set x, and it worked great. Figured out how to do the in line splice required for the roller furling. Bought Brian Toss' splicing wand, GREAT tool. New carpet in the main saloon, cut to fit and edged, I did it myself, though that is part of my business, any fool can do it.( You just need a sewing machine and patience. I would be happy to give anyone instructions. ) put in a velcro overlap for easy access to the bilge, a must. New faucet and shower hose in the head, bought from an R>V> place. Designed a trash bag holder that fits under the ladder in board, and a pots and pans holder that fits under the 2 burner stove I have. She's starting to feel like a boat again, wonderful!!!
