PB blaster. BTW, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I have found that putting Park Tools ASC-1(anti seizing compound, a product manufactured for bicycles and sold in bike shops) on the turnbuckle threads at the beginning of the season will prevent seizing stays. Also twisting the fittings back and forth 1/4 turn at least monthly during the season is helpfull
PB blaster is the best I have used so far. 42 yrs in aviation maintenance. just an opinion. And I second the poster that recommended anti sieze compound. recently removed my exhaust manifold, exhaust flange and exhaust riser after 7 yrs of use and abuse. not one bolt or nut failed to come apart. I found no rust on the studs at all. I use permatex by the way.
PB is ok, but try the GM product I posted above next time. I've built many many street rods from the 30s to late 60s, over the past 40+ years, so I've pretty much tried every rust buster ever produced
. The GM product beats them all, hands down, and also works well on stainless bolts and aluminum bits. Kroil would be a close second, but it's harder to locate locally for most people, and some have said they think Kroil actually makes the GM stuff for them anyway.Russ
