Anyone here tried to mount any sort of underwater lights on a sailboat? I see them all the time on powerboats but am curious if anyone has figured out a way to mount them on a sailboat?
Too Funny StuThe reason they're not on sailboats is that they ARE on powerboats!
Sailboaters don't back all of their boats into a dock, crammed all together, turn on the underwater lights, crank up the boom boxes, and attract whatever's underwater, so they can go dive in when they've had one too many.
I use my depth sounder to find out how deep the water is.
I can hang a flashlight overboard if I need to.:naughty:
Don't need no more holes in the bottom of my boat.![]()
Why do you want them? Here, underwater lights are used often for fishing, but you don't need to mount them permanently. You can get submersible lights of various shapes, sizes, and colors. Green is the preferred color for fishing. D batteries or 12v plug in. Hang it over the side and wait a little while. It does attract the fish.Anyone here tried to mount any sort of underwater lights on a sailboat? My wife tells me she thinks they use them because they need lights from below to illuminate the mirrors they have on the ceilings in their V berths.![]()
