We are keepin' on, keepin' on....

Last night's shift was spirited. The first hour felt like riding a bucking bronco. The waves were the perfect size and frequency to throw the boat around 45 degrees one way then 45 degrees the other. Whew, it was work! And that was really at the best angle we could go so folks could sleep and not get thrown around. After the first hour things calmed down and I could set things to just run a course not far from our great circle route.

Just received Musetta's 1500 UTC position report.. The word on the seas is the repair of the mainsail was a real speed factor in harnessing the wind. The past 24 hours they sailed 142nm at an average speed of 5.91 knots.

As they say, if you want to go faster, put up more canvas....

When we were racing the J24, we always said, "We'll put it up, God will take it down".
Yeah, I've had rather close calls with divine intervention.... Thank goodness they were only light touches of what could have been. But far to close for comfort...
