it looks as though my mast needs some attention; paint, new sheaves, wiring... and i have the space to work on the mast at leisure in my back yard but how to i get the mast home? it measures approx. 57' and i have 60 miles of city and freeway driving from the marina.

call the CHP or DMV first....

.... sounds like you'll need some kind of permit... and a big ass trailer Then I'd call a motor freight company.... or a boat moving outfit. either way it'll cost a bunch. If you haven't already, see how much a boatyard would charge for storage, I'd be very curious about that. Not much help was I? More questions than answers, oh well.

mast move

I move my mast about 10 miles every year and back in the spring . I put the mast on a truck rack and tie it down the yard puts the mast on and takes it off in the spring when I bring it back to the yard . It takes two larg men to handle the on the truck off the truck move at the house.I have aC 30 tall rig I think its 45' but I never checked it.I have a car ride in frount and back with flashers on and we take it at first light on sunday morning so there is not alot of trafic I think your mast riged is about 400lb mine is 300 hope this helps John Olson
