Larry, I don't know if I'll answer as many questions as I'll raise, but here goes. We've been trailering our C27 for 5 years now and find it gets easier every trip (by trip I mean several thousand miles through prairies and over mountains). To start with you'll require a vehicle capable of towing at least a 9000lb trailer (C27 and trailer), we use a Chev 3500 dually with a 6.5 turbo diesel engine. As the C27 at 8ft 10 inches is wider than permitted on most roads, the matter of roadpermits will have to be investigated for the area you will be travelling in. The first few years we hired a local crane operator to load/unload our boat and step the mast. With time we have developed procedures for launching and recovering the boat using a 20ft extention tongue and a mast raising device that we plagerized from one of the Catalina sites on the net. We've got it down to a science now, with a little help we can launch or retrieve in about an hour (but only if we don't forget anything and everything fits the first time). Since putting our C27 on wheels we've had friends follow our lead, they appear to be just as pleased with the boat and the mobility as we are.
