Whether you lower it forward or backward how are you going to control the speed of it dropping?

Main sheet pulley, possibly use the winch as well, or I might use an entirely separate rope pulley block and tackle that has a brake built in.

Uhm. I guess the proof is in the photos. Maybe once a season. I wouldn't want to do this every time I wanted to go for a sail. I hold on my position that this isn't a trailerable (Dry Sail) sailboat.
