216 trailer
Tom,I was having the same alignment problem you mentioned. It would take an average 4 attempts to get the centerboard in the tray.I added the trailer guides that clamp onto the frame and have a piece of PVC pipe coming up each side of the boat. I have them spaced so they are just touching the boat.No problems getting the boat centered on the trailer in one pass, now.If you are doubting the size of the winch, I can tell you what else you are doing wrong: You don't have the trailer far enough into the water. If you back it in until water covers the tops of the fenders, the boat will float up to within less than two feet of the winch, and you will have VERY little, light cranking to get it seated.I started out not backing in far enough, and just about wore out my arm trying to winch the boat up on the bunks.Bob
