I was specific with my response regarding when there is a swing centerboard/keel when suggesting repositioning the bunk boards if a keel tray is present. Experience is where I am coming from.
As for your 170, I was involved with that from inception till the last one left the factory and I am well aware your trailer has no keel tray. I also am aware of your concern but many daysailor trailers have no keel trays due to the weight of the centerboard on it. If you are concerned I would suggest a cross bar affixed to the trailer with a roller which the centerboard would rest on
