Trailer an H260 with Honda Pilot?

Just an idea Kermit, but if you love the boat so much why not get it and use a rental for the once or twice a year you need it ? Good luck with the decision

Yeah, I was at home depot today and took a look at the rental trucks, Ford 3500 flatbed with receiver and 7 pin jack and they go for $19 for the first 75 minutes.
I didn't ask if the have the light pigtain or hitch. Since they're set up for it, then maybe?

First, listen to your wife. They're always right. (I learned that lesson long ago and sometimes even remember it before she reminds me).

I can't help you with the Pilot decision really as I don't have any personal experience with them. I have towed boats and horse trailers for many years, and worked on cars for a living for about 15 years in a previous life. Transmission work on todays cars is so expensive you could probably find a used truck for less than a transmission job would cost on the Pilot. Food for thought. Going a little over the towing rating of the vehicle for short trips would probably not be a big deal. If those trips have hills in them, you might want to reconsider. I've always been a fan of a full frame to attach a hitch on, for a towing vehicle for a boat the size of a 260. Also, if you trash the tranny, your wife will definitely be right. Do you really want to go there?

I say, buy the boat and figure out how to tow it later My 2 cents.

In case y'all are wondering, we're still in the market for an H26. We did decide, though, how to get it home once we make a deal. Enterprise truck division has Ford F250s that are rated for trailers heavier than the H26 fully loaded for the road. Now we just need the right boat!

Does Enterprise allow you to tow a trailer with their trucks? I called them looking for a vehicle that could tow my H23.5 and they said that they don't allow towing. Maybe I was talking to the wrong division? I hope you are right, it would be nice to have another option besides UHaul.

I talked to the truck division. I have to have commercial insurance that covers towing. I forgot to mention that part in my previous post. I do have good auto insurance but will make sure I'm in compliance. I have the phone number for their location in Columbia, SC if that would help you.

I appreciate the help. We don't have driveway space for another vehicle. There's a Yukon for sale here in Sumter that would tow it just fine but we really aren't looking to trade vehicles right now.
