Hey,
On Long Island, this was 'The storm that wasn't.'
The weather forecasters, local government, and the media got everyone all freaked out. We were supposed to have 70 mph winds and massive flooding. The Governor called for all ocean beaches to be closed. They even called for an evacuation of Fire Island. So Saturday morning my wife and I went out to our boat and got it all prepared - remove head sail, remove dodger, lash down mainsail cover, etc etc ec. Then Sunday came and it was a beautiful day - would have been great sailing weather. But the STORM WAS COMING. Monday came with no storm, no flooding and not a drop of rain. Still would have been good for sailing. Finally today we have some rain and some wind. I think the highest wind was maybe 35 kts. No flooding, very little power outages, and much ado about nothing.
I suppose on Thursday I will get my boat sail ready again.
