Would the sailor that put out the Yard Sale sign on Block Island please take it down so that Hermine can get on her way out of here. You folks in RI and Cape Cod must be getting a pounding. The surf in NH has been wild today and expect more the same tomorrow. Good luck down there.

Finally starting to breeze here. Gusts to maybe 30. We'd like some rain. It looks like North of here is getting it worse. That's not new. Nor'easter and New England go together like a "Stamp to a letter."

Thank you all East Coasters for bearing the brunt of this rough storm. We've had the most beautiful three day Labor Day weekend ever, here on Cayuga Lake. Go figure! I'm sure crappy weather will return here soon enough. We hope and pray all is well with our SBO community.

Windyty has the storm dying by Friday just off the coast of NE. No wind and sprinkling this morning 30 miles inland here in NH. Good surf along the coast seen on web-cams.

Hey,
On Long Island, this was 'The storm that wasn't.'
The weather forecasters, local government, and the media got everyone all freaked out. We were supposed to have 70 mph winds and massive flooding. The Governor called for all ocean beaches to be closed. They even called for an evacuation of Fire Island. So Saturday morning my wife and I went out to our boat and got it all prepared - remove head sail, remove dodger, lash down mainsail cover, etc etc ec. Then Sunday came and it was a beautiful day - would have been great sailing weather. But the STORM WAS COMING. Monday came with no storm, no flooding and not a drop of rain. Still would have been good for sailing. Finally today we have some rain and some wind. I think the highest wind was maybe 35 kts. No flooding, very little power outages, and much ado about nothing.
I suppose on Thursday I will get my boat sail ready again.

Barry
