Does anyone tow their H23 or something of similar weight with a Chrysler Pacifica? I'm interested in how well it tows, and pulls the boat in and out of a launch. I need to replace my Jeep Grand Cherokee. We bring our boat to the marina in the spring, which is about 45 miles from home, and back home in the fall. The boat is not in a slip. The boat is all rigged, so we launch it when we want to use it, which is usually a couple times a week. The launch is fairly steep. It's at Harbour Towne Marina in Muskegon Michigan.

Thanks for your input

Good Luck,

My MIL has a pacifica, and although it rides well...it is no towing machine at all and with the 23 weighing over 2500 lbs, empty...you really don't have much margin when you add trailer and equipment, as it maxes out at 3500 lbs...which in IMHO is a bit high given the power train.

Hers does have all wheel drive, but was not great in the snow this year, even with that...we pull a small landscape trailer with a riding mower, and a 18' sailboat, but even those light loads kill mpg..

I would sooner get an older full size vehicle...

all the best

Since you are only towing it a couple of times a year, that would have a low impact; just be very carefull. I'd worry more about the 2x/week launch & retrieve; a lot of stresses on a light duty drivetrain. Why a Pacifica?

I have a Chevy Trailblazer that I use to tow my 23.5 without any problem at all.

It looks like the towing capacity is 3500 lbs with a 350lb tongue weight.
If it is a very steep ramp, consider an all wheel drive rather than front wheel drive version.

Pulling a Hunter out of the water is the real test. If the tow vehicle is light on the drive axle, the wheels are going to slip regardless of the towing capacity.

My little jeep pulls the boat right out because its 4WD. My 2WD pickup, with higher tow rating and horsepower, can't because there is zero weight on the drive wheels.
