Good advice above...3/4 ton at a minimum. Also, be sure you have an adequate hitch. Most trucks require an equilizing system for gross weights over 5000. The other thing to consider is the Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR), that is the total weight of the truck and the total weight of what ever it is towing, combined. As an example, if you have a Chevy 3/4 ton with the 6.0L engine, your GCWR is 16000. If your truck weighs 7500, your trailer and load can weigh no more than 8500 (7500 + 8500 = 16000).
