Anyone got a pic of themselves actually sailing?
That's me in the bottom left hand corner of the photo. It was taken with a drone shortly after the start of an evening pursuit race.

So... I'll take the opportunity to post one pic of each of the boat's I've owned over the past 13 years... :waycool:

This was taken off of the stern of my MacGregor V22 at anchor in a cove someplace in the Pamlico Sound. I gutted and fully restored this boat.

The blue sailboat in the distance is a MacGregor V21 at anchor in Kerr Reservoir (Bugg's Island) NC. It was also a gut and restore job and I also converted her to a cutter rig. I'm also in this picture..... the lard ass that the boat is having a hard time pulling up onto the skis. I was able to hang on until it finally pulled me up. Probably burnt two or three gallons of gas just getting me out of the water....

This is a sunset cruse on my current boat, a Hunter 26

This is a Hobie 16. I still have this boat. This shot is in Cape San Blast FL. We were just returning to the beach. This is one really fast Hobie and I've run down a few other Hobies while on this vacation... :)

This is a Coronado 25 tied up on a dock at Smith Mountain Lake. I only did cosmetic work on this boat. She was structurally sound when I got her. Very stiff boat and sturdy in a heavy blow.

This is a Coronado 23. Shot taken at Smith Mountain Lake. If you are ever looking for a really large trailer sailboat and you can find a shoal draft Coronado 23, that is the ticket. This boat had been grounded hard and had significant hull damage when I got her. If you want to see some repair pics, I have an album on my profile page on this site.

This is a 14' dink that I first learned to sail in 42 years ago. It is a sloop but the jib is not up in this pic. Those kids belong to a friend of mine. Shot was also taken at Bugg's Island NC. This boat is stored at my moms house and she mostly uses it as a row boat.

This is known as a Cha Cha. Shot taken at Smith Mountain Lake. My kids sailed this until they got to big for it. I sold it three years ago and got a wind surfer for my kids to use instead.

This is a Balboa 26. Shot taken at Smith Mountain Lake. The Balboa is also a very large and stiff "trailer" sailboat but a bit much to step on a regular basis. You can see a photo album of my keel repair on my profile page.

That is what it is all about .... Very nice spot. WHERE IS THAT? I might add it to my list of places to visit.

That is Copper Canyon Lake Havasu. You can see the town of Lake Havasu in the upper left side of that picture. I was maybe 3.5 miles from my slip in the marina. We pretty much had the lake to ourselves.

Try a google of "copper canyon lake havasu" and some scary pictures of that canyon just chock full of boats and parties will come up - partly because its close to town. The pictures are usually from some event. This is our second winter as snowbirds there and its a much different place in the winter. The town has a reputation for drunken spring breakers but during the winter, "summer camp for seniors" is a much better description.

Yes that is a very crowded lake, in fact how would one navigate that? wall to wall, boats, girls and booze
