If you use a tiller extension, you already have a tiller lock - just install the lock box. A little cutting, but the final installation is flush and looks factory.
The beauty is that when you are not using it, the lock box is virtually invisible, and the extension is stowed or locked parallel with the tiller. No junk in the way.
Also, you can quickly take over the helm, or make micro adjustments by using the twist-lock feature of the tiller extension.
What's more, the tiller\rudder doesn't move, so once you set the sails and trim the tiller extension, in a well-balanced boat and with steady wind(crucial) you can sail forever on a line. The boat will just almost imperceptibly round and fall off in a cycle, all the way into the sunset.
