I don't think I have the stock tiller on my 74 C27. I think it is longer than the original. Any ideas how long the original was? Also, does anyone think it would be a problem to put on a shorter, flatter tiller instead of the arched one? )It would allow the TP10 tillerpilot to lay flat.)thanks muchBC

Catalina 27 tiller

Brian,I have a 1987 27' Catalina that would seem to have the same tiller that you presenty have. You mentioned the desirability of having a flat (horizontal)tiller in order to mount a TP10 autopilot. I am trying to add the same autopilot but have nothing but problems. One of the main difficulties is the curvature of the tiller at the 18" dimension from the center of the rudder. None of the Simrad aux hardware is designed to handle this situation. On my boat the seat compartments and engine panel make it near impossible to go with the 18" dimension. I cannot mount it to port because of the inability to get behind the mounting surface.bob
