Hey guys,
I was checking out the tiller on my 26s yesterday, looking at adding something so I can let go of it for short periods of time.
I noticed that there is nothing to hold it up. Meaning, I can't rest my hand/arm/ leg on it. It would lay down directly on the lazerette lid, and rub on it when I'm steering, unless I hold it up.
Is there anything I can use that would hold it up, so I can rest a hand on it?
Oh I installed a kinda home made tiller tamer kinda thing i saw on the net a while back. It's a short piece of tubing with a short rod welded on so it looks like a tee. Drill a hole in the tiller for it to stick in. Run a rope across the boat, through the tubing, to the other side. Pull tight, and the tension holds it in position. When you don't want it, just pull it out, and it's out of the way!
