Tiller large sailboats?

My Rival 32 has a tiller. It's one of the things I liked about the boat. Headroom in the cabin is 6'. But the interior and cockpit are small by today's standards. Two people in the cockpit is comfortable, three is okay, starts to get crowded with four. With the tillerpilot hooked up, the cockpit becomes a bit more cramped. It's an old, British boat so there aren't that many in the U.S. A quick check of Yachtworld.com shows two Rival 32s currently for sale in the U.S.
The photo shows my wife steering when we took it out on a test sail before buying the boat. I had to remove the speakers in the cockpit when I installed the tillerpilot because the speaker magnets interfered with its compass.
