Looking for some suggestions on stopping throttle creep. Our boat, Tyde What May, apparently likes to operate at 2450 rpms no matter where we set the throttle. I can set it at 3000rpms and within 30 seconds it's back to 2450. While that is actually a comfortable cruising rpm (generally 5 to 5.5knots), I'd like to be able to set it higher and not have to hold it.
I know this "should" be an easy fix, tighten the cable or tighten the actual throttle on the engine, but I took a quick look yesterday and didn't see anything that stood out as the adjustment.
Any comments, suggestions, experiences you'd like to share?
Thanks.
Jim
