One of the hardest things for me to find when I was learning how to sail was "how to sail slowly" . It seems like everyone is obsessed with sailing fast but sometimes sailing slowly is very useful. Sail trim is all about how to get the most out of your sails and boat, but when it is blowing stink and you are approaching an unfamiliar area do others on this forum feel the need to be able to continue sailing slowly and cautiously instead of hoisting the cast iron jib?
