Teak toe rail for a 25

I have a 1983 O'day 25. The teak toe rail is in bad shape and I would like to replace it. Does anyone know were I might get new toe rail? Thanks

Randy-I recommend that you take off your toe rail either in pieces or in one piece depending on it's state of deterioration and go to a true full service lumber yard where they can do some milling on the teak they sell you. I had to order the teak I needed but it only took a couple of days to get in and the cost to have it put through the planer and then have it rounded over for the cap feature was a minimal amount. The cost of the teak I don't recall but it was MUCH cheaper at the lumber yard than at a marine supply store.If you call around in your area ask if they do milling, planing, routering, etc. Most of those yards that do that are pretty helpful.Good Luck,MikeS/B Pitterpat, Lake Huron

teak toe rail replacement

I removed all my toe rails and brought them to Triad boat works in Mattapoisette, MA and hade them re-make them. 6-6' sections for $225.00.They milled them and punched the holes for re installation. I have a 22' Oday. Its not bad concidering the price of alluminum toe rails. D&R had replacements but did not matche.According to Rudi Nickerson " Oday changed the toe rails so often during production that your boat could have any profile. He can fax you a sheet depicting profiles and price..

King Starboard Homebuilt

I'm in the process of refurbishing my 25. The teak toe rails, hatch slides and handrails were in bad shape. Not wanting to have to varnish anything, ever, I elected to fabricate all of them from a product called King Starboard. If you are handy with woodworking tools it's not too hard, actually it routes profiles much cleaner than any wood I've worked. I used 1" for the handrail & toerail and 1-1/2" for the hatch slides. Toe Rail done last year

I replaced my teak toe rails last spring, I bought the toe rails from Rudt ar D&R. Vey easy and they were not that much, I think I bought 6 5ft pieces. I have an 1984 O'Day 25.EJ Tews
