The veneer is VERY thin. The PO ruined our salon table by trying to fix water stains from a mast leak and sanding through the veneer to the plywood below. If the teak hasn't been previously varnished, try rubbing it with bronze wool (medium or fine, and DON'T use steel wool), hit stains with teak brightner or if it's really bad use oxalic acid ($10 at West Marine), then re-apply Dalys Seafin, which is the finish Hunter originally used.
