To BoatLIFE: What do you recommend for cleaning and maintaining teak and holly soles? Is there a non-slip preservative to use after cleaning?

cleaner and teak oil

We clean our teak and holly sole with a cleaner and then put a light covering of teak oil on it. No problem and no slips.

Same as at home!

Teak and holly floors are no different from any other "hardwood floor" in a land-based situation. They are wood, covered by some type of urethane. Because of this, I just use Murphy's Oil Soap on the floors and they look the same as they did when I first bought the boat 7 years ago.

Carpeting

We have oriental runners on the cabin sole. They are secured with carpet tape to prevent slips. Our last boat never needed to have the sole touched up, sanded, oiled or varnished. They looked new after years of use. Jim
