Tall Rig Versus Standard

I am evaluating several used C-28s on the market and hope to buy this winter. I would love to see some dialogue on the comparitive differences between the C-28 tall rig and standard rig. How does the difference in rig size effect sailing characteristics? How does it effect stability? In what conditions would you go with a tall rig? Any help on this subject would be appreciated.Stuart Gordon

Tall rig

I own an 94 C-28 tall rig. When I purchased her new in 94 the dealer told me that my tall rig is 44' 4" off the water. He said that until 94 when the double spreader mast were first out all masts were 44' 4" off the water. In 94 Catalina began to give the option of a "standard rig", 3 feet shorter.I am happy with my tall rig.Terry JackSV Amazing Grace
