Back in the crazy days when I was bouncing about all over the world, (I call it my Hunter S. Thompson days), I crash landed in the far reaches of the north of Canada. I got snowed in for MONTHS, could not leave. And while the people were nice enough, and it was in fact beautiful, I spent a considerable amount of time telling folks, "Go south!! What the hell is wrong with you". They spent fully half their lives simply trying to SURVIVE.
Not a very conducive sailing environment.
