Taking Delivery Friday 7/8 on the following:
1985 Catalina 27 Standard Rig with 14 Hp Universal Inboard Diesel Engine (low hours).
  • 20 Gallon Water Tank, marine Head with holding tank
  • Electronics - Garmin 120 GPS, ICOM M402 VHF w/cockpit Mic, new compass, depthsounder, wind speed/direction/knotmeter hookups
  • Sails - UK Halsey Custom built loose footed main (2003), old main, jib, genoa, roller furling headsail
  • Canvas - Bimini (new 2006), mainsail cover, companionway cover with screen and window
  • swim ladder, anchor and chain
  • Galley with sink, two burner stove, stern mounted BBQ
  • Battery charger unit, bilge pump with dedicated circuit breaker both replaced in 2002
  • New bottom paint in 2009, engine has been professionally maintained
  • Cockpit cushions in great shape, interior cushions replaced 2010
  • Marine Cruis-Air AC unit (needs recharging)
Will sell with all safety equipment, PFDs, etc. Boat is USCG registered and is current for TPWD and Type III marine head registrations.

One owner (I am 2nd)... Needs detailing, teak refinished and some lines replaced... All else works good... $6000... Have commited to buying just want to ask the pros if it is a good deal??

If everything's in good shape, you did very well.

I've got a 1984 C27 with the Universal diesel. I've had it almost 12 years and it has been a fantastic boat for us (we're now a family of five). The boat is solid, performs well, and is a joy to sail. The Universal diesel has been extremely reliable. Change the oil & filter, give it clean fuel & clean air, and it will run a long, long time.

Just yesterday we spent a couple hours sailing with the kids. My 7 & 5 year olds each took a trick at the wheel and they love it.
