It looks like I have been stumped again and need some help from you kind people. I have an 81 cat 27 with a 5411 diesel. The boat did not come with a tach and with out a coil where do you conect the wires when installing one? Thanks "MIC"
Diesel engine do not need a coil as they have no spark plugs. The tach is normally hooked to either a speed sensor on the crank pulley or the alternator.
