Swim step or platform for older 30s?

I am a Catalina 30 owner-wannabe. I talked my very good friend into buying one... too bad he lives 600 miles away. Still looking for my boat, but have questions:- Has anyone ever created a swim platform for the Catalina 30? I'm imaging a wider teak platform of some type to replace the ladder that folds up like the ladder.- Has anyone ever created a stern pulpit (hopefully in conjuction with the above) that incorporates "perch" seats that overhang the stern (not like the add-on perch seats)?Thanks,-Richard

Hey Richard, good question!This spring I got MY C30! An 85 cherrie!But I would like some sort of "seat" on the stern for resting while swimming.I have a couple ideas for building an aluminum one and the means to do it, but i am interested to see any responses. I suppose a ski boat type would work if the mounting surface matches. We will see. Dean

if you go thru the archives,there are pictures of a folding swim platform that someone fabricated and installed on a cat-30. catalina direct.com has a retrofit sternrail with the perch seats like the mk-IIIs, pricey at 900 .
