3 dime size on hull. Is this a problem or not. Should I buy this '89 Hunter? Thanks.

small blisters

Jerry Three small blisters usually are not a prelude to bigger problems. Just open them up, grind down to good glass, let the areas thoroughly dry, fill, fair and seal them. If the problem recurs next season, you can barrier coat the entire hull which is good preventative maintenance. There is always the other viewpoint that says - why buy one with blisters when there are so many others for sale with no issues? Depends on the overall condition of the boat, the deal and how much you really like this particular boat.

Grind them out with a dremel tool

dry with a heat gun, fill and fair with some thickened quick set epoxy and paint it. If you want to be obsessive, you can add some aluminum powder to the epoxy mix. Three small ones are not a problem. One hour to fix - maybe less.

Hi Jerry, my marine surveyor said not to worry...

about dime size blisters. He advised me to just open them up, let them dry out and use a scraper to remove any loose bottom paint. Then sand and feather the edges until smooth then apply bottom paint. No grinding into the glass is necessary. Terry
