We found Campania Island calling to us, so jumped over to the west coast of it. Spent a couple of nights in McMicking Inlet. Great spot, wolves howling on the beach. Some good looking sandy beaches just south of McMicking that look to be good beach combing in more settled weather.35D73835-280F-4E0E-B55E-9CD51EDBDE00.jpeg Captain listening to the wolves.

Weinberg Inlet was next. It’s a big Inlet with hundreds of places to anchor and fantastic to explore by kayak. We have stayed in some great anchorages so far and have passed a hundred for every one we’ve stayed in. Tonight we are in Hartley Bay, 4 bars of cell, trying to get caught-up.

Great pics, Michael. Wonderful country.
Hi @Terry Cox , you’ll remember how rugged Princess Royal Island is, very scenic etc. Just read a book, “Lost Nuke”, about a B-36 crew who had to bail out over that island during a snow storm. First of three B-36’s that crashed in Canada and the first “Broken Arrow”. Good read!

We are back in Hartley Bay today after a trip to Prince Rupert to restock with fresh veggies etc.

We spent a couple of days at Klewnuggit Marine Park on the way to Rupert and on the way back. East Inlet in the park was a great anchorage.6621E2CF-D083-4D88-B536-2ED874D7F2B2.jpeg

We spent three nights and four days in Union Passage and we feel like we will come back and spend more time.

Very. Nice Michael
Not sure how the Lamb BBQ went. Hope you had an enjoyable Canada Day.
We are at home celebrating the 4th by spending time in the garage cleaning and tossing treasures that no longer qualify as treasures.

Great images. Kayaks are fun and useful in your travels.

Hi John
Seems the BBQ went very well. They just posted 300 photos on their Facebook page. The break-down on the 2nd was a little damp as they had about 3/4 in. of rain. Bev has used the dinghy for a little exercise but I haven’t put the motor on it yet. Kayaks are more fun.
We had a great Canada Day just loafing around. Sounds like you put your holiday to better use!

It is nice to have him back near a community so we can get a picture or two or three of the beautiful sailing country.

From Hartley Bay we decided to pay a visit to Europa Bay and the hot spring there.C8F30850-4BAD-45C1-8C2E-6FC7B3CA5007.jpeg The hot tub building in the trees.

We spent three days here and only saw two work boats pass in the distance.

Thanks for the tip, Michael. Must locate that book for a read. Sounds interesting. Princes Royal Island, and the trip to it, was well worth visiting. Next time I want to do a circumnavigation. Maybe then will spot the elusive Spirit Bear.

The next stop along the way was Bishop Bay hot spring. We’ve been spoiled having the world to ourselves and felt in a big crowd with nine boats here along with a Parks Canada survey crew trying to make it better for MORE people. I think it’ll soon be as bad as Hot Springs Cove near Tofino.
0B6CE2A3-E9A8-4D68-847F-20CA851CB43D.jpeg The trip down to Butedale was foggy and rainy so not many pics. Butedale is undergoing some Reno’s. Most of the old buildings are gone and the owner is looking for some investment capital to build a destination marina.
Just out of Butedale we met a young kayaker on day 38 of his paddle from Victoria to Juneau.

The fog that followed us out of Miles caught up with us about 1/2 way to the Goose Islands. We anchored by radar and chart plotter. Thankfully the fog lifted soon and we were able to take the kayaks and do some exploring.8CCB290C-B1B4-4E6D-83CB-21822F4333A9.jpeg Wandering on the beach.
