Had a look on the way past. Looks like someone is building new docks there. Maybe something in the works?
Hmm. Been abandon for years after the RCMPs drug raided the place, took the owners to jail and shut the place down. Last time we were there all the buildings were empty and ransacked. Once upon a time a very popular stopping place for boaters.

Someone said it was still a DFO dock and they were up grading it. I don’t know for sure.

Very pretty place with some great kayaking.F59B93FE-8ADA-41FC-8C60-F54DCE8E099F.jpeg Some old equipment. This is a gas driven drill press. Looks to have about a 4 ft. throw. I think for drilling holes in boom sticks.

From Potts we motored up Beware Passage (lots of rocks ) to Dead Point. I wanted to go ashore to look for the “ Monks Wall”33399FCC-E02B-43B5-9ABB-DC5987D994F3.jpeg 53045006-D8D7-433B-89F0-7760BD10255D.jpeg There is about 100 ft. Of wall in various state of repair. Built by homesteaders in the 1890’s.

036CCD6D-2943-4778-998A-3641DA1C08BB.jpeg After rounding Cape Caution we stopped at Fury Cove. This is a great place to stop when going south as you can look over the shell beach and have a first hand look at the weather in Queen Charlotte Sound. We found anchorages more to our liking in Fish Egg Inlet just a little farther up Fitz Hugh.CEB13070-AD9D-460B-9961-EC2F6C8030CE.jpeg This is in Oyster Bay, one of four anchorages we tried. Sorry @Terry Cox but we didn’t find a single oyster.

Very nice Michael. No answer as to why, but oysters for some reason, do not flourish north of Desolation Sound. Water too cold, must be a reason. Fury Cove a very nice stopping place. Also, Rock Inlet behind the old Namu fish cannery. Feels like entering an enclosed lake with no way out.

I agree Terry. We bypassed Nammu this year and went to Fougner Bay just inside Burke. Also surrounded by land and very secure. Just so many places to explore!

Two days in Shearwater, lots of excitement, one, of the Race to Alaska boats lost their rudder offshore near here. They came into Shearwater under jury rig and rather then fly one in they built a new rudder of plywood and fibreglass. We ended up in Seaforth Channel as they left Shearwater, two other boats, both monohulls there as well. We joined the race for a couple of hours, the trimaran and one of the monos left us in there dust but we passed one before heading into Raitt Narrows for the night. We spent a night at Oliver Bay Marine park and today moved on to Klemtu. Tomorrow we go through Meyers Narrows to Kent Inlet.

Cool you could be in the race... 2 boats in the same vicinity always race... Those guys in that race are way more wild than me. Though I would like to make the run to Ketchikan at some point... Maybe we cauldron call it the Leisurely cruise to AK.

That’s what we’re having. A one boat race that has taken almost two months to get halfway there! I think the winner took just six days! Nowhere near relaxed enough for me!

George at Klemtu a very gracious host. Well worth a tour of their Long House while you're there. Myers Narrows Inlet a nice anchorage if that works out for you.

Topped up the fuel tank at Klemtu then back to Clothes Bay for the night. Off to Meyers Passage in the morning. Had a nice visit with some Dall’s Porpoises on the way then up the West side of Princess Royal Island to Kent Inlet.D79903CD-A48A-4AD4-99A3-0BD7D1CEB717.jpeg Anchored near the 6 ft. reversible tidal falls.E50C2055-5544-45D2-A2C6-AE181777389D.jpeg Going in and out of Phillips Narrows was a bit of a rush. Water looks about 16 in. deep but the sounder said 16 ft.
