Hmm. Been abandon for years after the RCMPs drug raided the place, took the owners to jail and shut the place down. Last time we were there all the buildings were empty and ransacked. Once upon a time a very popular stopping place for boaters.Had a look on the way past. Looks like someone is building new docks there. Maybe something in the works?
Someone said it was still a DFO dock and they were up grading it. I don’t know for sure.Hmm. Very nice Michael. No answer as to why, but oysters for some reason, do not flourish north of Desolation Sound. Water too cold, must be a reason. Fury Cove a very nice stopping place. Also, Rock Inlet behind the old Namu fish cannery. Feels like entering an enclosed lake with no way out.Sorry @Terry Cox but we didn’t find a single oyster.
I agree Terry. We bypassed Nammu this year and went to Fougner Bay just inside Burke. Also surrounded by land and very secure. Just so many places to explore!Very nice Michael. That’s what we’re having. A one boat race that has taken almost two months to get halfway there! I think the winner took just six days! Nowhere near relaxed enough for me!Cool you could be in the race... 2 boats in the same vicinity always race... Those guys in that race are way more wild than me. Though I would like to make the run to Ketchikan at some point... Maybe we cauldron call it the Leisurely cruise to AK.
