Stuffing material

My Catalina 28 has a 1" prop shaft. The stuffing gland material will have to be changed soon. Any suggestions on what diameter flax type stuff to use, what brand, and what lubricant? Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

Try Gore GFO

I used the Gore GFO material last year and was very pleased. No drips, no heating problems, easy to install. I can't imagine going back to the regular flax stuff again.

Thanks for the good info. I'll order some. The manual says it should be 3/16".
